Why companies are using boutique and niche firms?
The Why?
I have worked for the big firms, and now for a small niche firm, and I’m seeing more and more recruiting firms pop up. Why is that? Well since I am doing it let me tell you why. The market is TIGHT, meaning unlike the old days when you used to be able to post a position on a job board and get 5-10 qualified candidates those days are dead. Companies are posting positions and maybe seeing 1 or 2 qualified candidates, MAYBE! And think you may have to go through 50-75 applicants just to find that diamond in thro rough, STOP!
Companies are calling the more “niche” firms because they work with that type of candidate, they know the lingo, and they understand exactly what you are going through. I have had a client recently thank me for just coming in and understanding their pain points and not making them explain and explain and explain. There is no quicker way to lose a client!
Creativity!
How creative can you get? On what you ask? Recruiting tactics, if you ask your recruiter “how are you going to find someone for me?” And they can’t seem to answer that or they tell you the same old post a position, that’s not going to work so just hang up. Recruiters need to know how to attract the top talent that is working.
